Core of a safe Ex-Proof product is a competent conformity assessment made in accordance with the standard group IEC/EN 60079-0. Initial education for young engineers by senior engineers has to be well organized, e.g. by a training on the job. Governmental organizations like PTB offer short term stays for experienced and young engineers in order to make contact to PTB engineers for better and easier communication and exchange of minds. Capability of test equipment, successful participation in the PTB Ex Proficiency Testing Scheme and different views in the conformity assessment process of certain designs are questions to be managed every day. Therefore suitable organization of the test laboratory, a powerful quality system and low barrier contacts to other test laboratories are needed.
